AP Language and Composition Student Samples Reflect Current Literature
AP Language and Composition Student Samples Reflect Current LiteratureThis year, AP Language and Composition student samples were recently released to the public. You can find them at the University of Houston web site and all the other schools as well. If you are considering a college major in English, you should take some time to review some of the samples that have been released this year and decide which ones will be most appealing to you.One of the biggest questions regarding AP Language and Composition student samples is whether or not they are actually reflective of the type of courses offered. To that end, a lot of people have been wondering whether the new format of AP courses is really going to take off. When you compare the AP exams for the last few years, it's no surprise that most people see AP courses on the decline. Since so many people choose to get AP coursework from home, it only makes sense that the exam and course curriculum will change. The fact of the matter is t hat the curriculum for the next few years of AP courses will involve a lot more reflection on the writing itself, and more discussion on the themes that will be presented in the class. While it might not be possible to get an AP course that is exactly like the one you had last year, there will still be plenty of opportunity to learn the concepts that will be used in the next few AP courses. In fact, if you look at the syllabus for AP Language and Composition, you will see that there will be a lot of reflection on topics that are being discussed in the current year's course. What are some of the most interesting examples of this reflected writing and spoken discourse that you can find in AP Language and Composition student samples? It's fairly easy to find examples of those that don't focus on any one theme. For example, one example offers up a class presentation about the balance between technological change and the environmental impact of our use of energy. The students discuss the types of research that has been done, as well as how technology and the environment interact with each other.Other examples have several themes that are being discussed within the AP courses and are relatively clear in their form. One example discusses things like immigration, bullying, poverty, and state funding. There are lots of topics that will be covered in AP courses, but these are some of the most relevant to the course. There is also a strong emphasis in AP Language and Composition for class discussion on the reading and the written word. A good example of this is when a topic is brought up by the instructor, but the student has not yet had the opportunity to read the text. In response, the students discuss what the author meant by their position, which is then read out loud. This could be an interesting process, especially if you love to read.Another good example of reflective writing in AP Literature and Rhetoric Essay student samples comes from an essay that focuses on the concept of 'change'. The students discuss how people tend to talk about events and circumstances as they change, and whether or not they should. Students are challenged to think about how such a change could affect the students, and their fellow classmates. While AP Language and Composition student samples this year include a number of all over examples, there are a few that will be highlighted as key examples this year. Overall, the essays offered will be very reflective in nature, as students continue to debate what literature is relevant and valuable to them. The topics will range widely from the written word to literature to political debates, and a number of different subjects.
